Dr. Rachel Davenport is a Professor of Instruction in the Biology Department at Texas State University, where she began teaching in 2011. She has a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and M.S. in Biology from Florida State University, and a B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Dr. Davenport teaches courses such as Modern Biology, Human Physiology, Vertebrate Physiology, and Biology of Sex and Reproduction. She has won several teaching awards including the Presidential Distinction Award in Teaching, College Achievement Award in Teaching, and Award for Excellence in Online Teaching. She is committed to her students, supervising several Honors projects, serving as Faculty Advisor for student organizations, and facilitating teaching workshops that focus on student inclusion and success.
